5. Community Content
5.1 User Contributions
The App allows you to submit various types of community content, including fix requests, votes, comments, and tips (collectively, "Community Content"). By submitting Community Content, you understand and agree that:
- Your submissions will be visible to other users of the App
- Your display name may be shown alongside your submissions
- Other users may vote on or interact with your submissions
5.2 License Grant
By submitting Community Content, you grant WindowsHelper a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, display, and distribute your Community Content in connection with the operation and promotion of the App. This license continues even if you stop using the App, but you may request deletion of your Community Content at any time.
5.3 Content Moderation
5.4 Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the Community Content you submit. You represent and warrant that your submissions do not infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other legal rights, and that they comply with all applicable laws.
6. PC Control Feature
6.1 Voluntary Connection
Use of the PC Control feature is entirely voluntary. You pair your phone and your PC yourself: the WindowsHelper app on your phone shows an 8-character pairing code, and you type that code into the WindowsHelper Companion running on your PC. No connection to your PC is established without your explicit action.
6.2 Allowlisted Commands Only
The PC Control feature will only run commands that match a pre-approved allowlist maintained by WindowsHelper. Commands you type yourself cannot be sent through it, and the allowlist cannot be modified by users. That allowlist is not limited to read-only diagnostics such as ipconfig and systeminfo: it also covers repair actions that change your system, including clearing caches, resetting network settings, restarting services, and editing registry values. Anything the Companion classifies as destructive — for example deleting files, formatting a volume, deleting registry keys, or restarting Windows — additionally requires you to approve it by clicking a confirmation dialog on the PC itself before it will run.
6.3 Session Data and Pairing
Your phone deletes each command, and its result, about an hour after it is sent; that clean-up runs in the app, so if you close the app first, the command can stay on our servers. The pairing between your phone and your PC, however, is persistent by design: it survives restarts until you remove it, and the Companion sets itself to start with Windows so that it can receive commands. WindowsHelper as a company does not hold remote access to your PC — a command can only reach it from a phone you have paired yourself.
6.4 Disclaimer of Responsibility
By using the PC Control feature, you acknowledge and accept that:
- You are voluntarily connecting your PC to the service
- While we implement security measures including command allowlisting and encrypted communications, you use this feature at your own risk
- You are responsible for ensuring that no unauthorized individuals have access to your session codes
- We are not liable for any issues that may arise from the use of this feature, including but not limited to data loss, system instability, or security incidents
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Our Property
The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by WindowsHelper and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. This includes, but is not limited to:
- The WindowsHelper name, logo, and branding
- All fix guides, troubleshooting content, and instructional materials

7.2 Limited License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App or its content, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code.
7.3 Trademarks
WindowsHelper and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of WindowsHelper. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission. "Windows" is a registered trademark of Microsoft Corporation; WindowsHelper is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft.
8. User-Generated Content
8.1 Ownership
You retain all rights to the content you create and submit through the App, including fix requests, comments, tips, and notes. We do not claim ownership of your content.
8.2 License to Display
By submitting content that is intended to be shared with the community (fix requests, comments, tips, and votes), you grant us a license to display, distribute, and make that content available to other users as described in Section 5.2. Private content such as personal notes and favorites are not shared with other users.
8.3 Removal
You may delete your own Community Content at any time through the App. If you delete your account, all associated content will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Note that cached or archived copies of your content may persist briefly after deletion.
9. Privacy
