Overview

Stream audio between your phone and Windows PC, use your phone as a wireless microphone, or route PC audio to your phone speakers.

What's different about streaming audio from your phone to your PC

This is distinct from the phone and PC failing to pair or connect at all, and distinct from messages specifically not syncing — this is about playing your phone's sound, such as calls or media, through your PC's speakers once a connection between the two devices already exists. Audio is its own separate stream running within that connection, the same way messaging has its own separate path.

Audio has to be captured on the phone continuously, sent across the connection in real time, and played back on the PC without breaking up — a different kind of ongoing task than a one-off message or notification, which is part of why audio can behave differently, cutting out or lagging, even when everything else about the phone-PC connection looks completely fine.

Is this the same as the phone and PC not connecting at all?
No — this is about audio specifically breaking down after the connection between phone and PC already exists and other features are working.
Why does audio cut out while everything else on the connection works fine?
That's a useful clue — it points toward the audio stream specifically rather than the connection as a whole being broken.
Could this be my headphones or PC speakers rather than the phone?
It's worth ruling out separately, since audio also passes through whatever output device is currently selected on the PC, which is a different layer than the phone-to-PC connection itself.
