What’s involved in mirroring your phone’s screen to your PC

Mirroring a phone to a PC means your phone’s screen — what’s on it in real time — gets shown on your PC, so you can view or sometimes control your phone from the bigger screen. It relies on your phone and PC being properly connected and both sides agreeing to share and receive that screen feed continuously, which is a different, more demanding job than sending a single file back and forth.

Because the connection has to keep up in real time, mirroring is more sensitive to interruptions than most phone-to-PC features — a brief hiccup in the connection shows up immediately as lag, freezing, or the mirror dropping out entirely, rather than just a delayed file transfer.
