📶 WiFi & Bluetooth Driver Issues After Windows Update Fix - Windows 11/10
Last updated: July 12, 2025
Restore the driver version that was working before the update
Not sure this is your exact issue? Every WindowsHelper guide is scoped to one specific problem — not a generic troubleshooting checklist — so if the title above matches what you're seeing, this is the right guide.
Why Wi-Fi and Bluetooth can break together after an update
On many laptops, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth aren’t two entirely separate pieces of hardware — they often share a single combo chip and, sometimes, overlapping driver software. That shared foundation means a Windows update that disrupts one can disrupt the other at the same time, which is why both going wrong right after the same update usually isn’t a coincidence so much as a shared cause.
This is a different situation than either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth acting up on its own — when they break at the exact same moment, tied to the exact same update, that timing and pairing is itself a meaningful clue pointing at the shared driver rather than two unrelated problems.
How to tell it’s the shared-driver pattern
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth both stopped working, or started acting up, at the same time
- Both problems began right after a specific Windows update, not gradually
- Neither radio shows up correctly, or both show errors, rather than just one
- Other devices on the same network or in Bluetooth range are unaffected — it’s isolated to this PC
How serious is it?
Usually minor
This is a driver-and-update issue, not hardware damage — the radios themselves are very likely intact underneath.
Worth taking seriously
If it’s been several days since the update and both are still down, that’s worth treating as more than a passing glitch.
Why fixing Wi-Fi alone (or Bluetooth alone) often leaves the other one broken
Because they present as two separate complaints, it’s natural to troubleshoot Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as two unrelated problems — but if the actual cause is one shared driver an update disrupted, fixing one radio’s symptom without addressing the shared piece often leaves the other one still broken, or brings the first one back later.
Recognizing that both going wrong together after the same update points at one shared cause, and guiding the fix that addresses that shared piece, is what WindowsHelper is being built to do.
